Fortress Technology is looking for a Service Technician to join our growing team supporting customers throughout New Zealand.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving technical problems, and building relationships with customers. While some technical experience is important, we’re far more interested in finding the right person than someone who already knows everything.

In fact, we expect there will be a lot to learn.

Our equipment is specialised, which means we’ll provide extensive training and support to help you become the technician our customers rely on.

You’ll spend time in our Cambridge workshop learning the products before heading out to customer sites to perform calibrations, preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting. As your confidence grows, you’ll take ownership of customer relationships and become the person people call when they need help.

The role involves travel throughout New Zealand. Some trips will be planned weeks in advance. Others may involve responding quickly when a customer has an urgent issue and needs support.

That’s why we’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, can think on their feet, and likes the idea that no two weeks will look exactly the same.

You’ll likely be successful if you …

• Have some mechanical, electrical or technical experience
• Enjoy fault finding and problem solving
• Communicate well with customers
• Can work independently
• Are organised and self-motivated
• Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence
• Are happy travelling around the country

You might currently be working in maintenance, manufacturing, automotive, machinery servicing, electrical support, production engineering or another hands-on technical environment.

What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your ability to represent Fortress Technology professionally when you’re on-site with customers.
