Our client, John Clarkson, is a Specialist Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon with a private practice based in Hamilton and providing services to the wider Waikato community.

A rare opportunity has arisen for a new face to join the team as a working Practice Manager to oversee the running of the practice and provide exceptional frontline administration support to the practice and patients.

About the Role | He Korero Mō te tūranga

As our client’s new Practice Manager, you are an appropriately experienced team member responsible for all aspects of managing, organising and coordinating the smooth running of our client’s busy private practice. You are responsible for ensuring a consistent service delivery model that provides high quality clinical care that meets the needs of patients whilst growing revenue streams for the clinic.

Your key responsibilities include…

  • Providing frontline support to patients and specialists
  • Maintaining the patient database
  • Managing and maintaining the accounts for the practice
  • Managing the ACC claims portfolio
  • Overseeing the property aspects of the centre from coordinating maintenance to managing tenants
  • Contributing to the marketing plan
  • Maintaining the practice website
  • Developing systems and processes
  • Championing our priorities in respect of patient-centric services.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

About You | He Kōrero mōu

As our client’s Practice Manager, you will ideally have experience in the health sector. You instinctively understand how vital the patient experience is in every aspect of your work. You are someone who thrives in a support role!

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Great administration skills and be tech-savvy
  • Initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and foster collaborative working relationships
  • A results-focused approach without losing sight of patient and clinic needs
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • A level-headed, calm approach
