About the role
As our Group Accountant, you will play a key role in a small team with big goals, leading financial strategy across Cambridge Raceway Ltd, Waikato-Bay of Plenty Harness Inc, and Taylor Street Ltd (our onsite Sports Bar). The Details:
Hours:  Full time, 40 hours per week, this role will keep you busy!

Who We Work With:

  • Internally: Waikato-Bay of Plenty Harness Board, Cambridge Raceway Team
  • Externally: Our Corporate Partners, Industry Stakeholders, TAB NZ, Harness Racing New Zealand (just to name a few)

Primary Objectives:
Ready to navigate our financial landscape? You’ll oversee the financial, accounting, and budgeting sphere across our trifecta of businesses: Cambridge Raceway Ltd, Waikato-Bay of Plenty Harness Inc, & Taylor Street Ltd.

What We’re Looking For (Technical and Personal Competencies):

  • Finance or accounting qualification (CA/CPA)? Check.
  • 4+ years’ experience in an accounting firm or role. That’s you!
  • High-performing team player? Check.
  • Savvy with Microsoft Office & XERO? Check.
  • Interpersonal guru with planning superpowers? You bet.
  • Clear communicator with a keen eye for detail? Essential.

Challenges & Performance Indicators (It’s not all glitz and glamour):

  • Mastering the budget balancing act.
  • Multi-organisational time management.
  • Spot-on financial forecasting & cash flow management.
  • Timely reporting, audits, and more.
